At LEAP Innovations, we’re focused on transforming the way kids learn by better connecting education with innovation, creating personalized learning that benefits students and their teachers. In our Pilot Network, we work directly with educators and tech innovators to discover and pilot personalized learning technologies and innovative practices, and then share our research nationally to scale what works.

Edtech companies that pilot with LEAP gain valuable insights and visibility within Chicago Public Schools, including traditional and charter schools, as well as private schools. Schools that partner with LEAP receive support as they build and pilot a personalized learning model, incorporating an edtech product vetted by a national panel of experts, and then scale key learnings to other classrooms and schools within their network.

LEAP’s success and vision for its Pilot Network program has garnered national attention, including support from the Gates Foundation. With the $5.1 million grant from the Gates Foundation, LEAP will assemble the best practices learned from its pilot programs in Chicago to help six other education innovation organizations across the country.

Year One – 2014-2015: LEAP Focused on Literacy K-8: 24 products applied to pilot in the 2014-2015 school year; LEAP launched pilots with six edtech literacy products in 15 traditional, charter and parochial schools in fall 2014

Year Two – 2015-2016: LEAP Focused on Literacy and Math K-8: More than 50 products applied to pilot in the 2015-2016 school year; LEAP launched pilots with eight edtech literacy and math products in 14 traditional, charter and parochial schools in fall 2015

Our third cohort – 21 Chicago traditional, charter, and Archdiocese schools – is starting their pilots now.
