From Compliance to Coherence: Building AI Guidance That Supports Your District Priorities

A practitioner-led conversation on turning your state's mandate into purposeful AI guidance that puts learners and learning first.

Virtual Event • Free

Several states—including Illinois, Maryland, Idaho, Oklahoma, Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee—will now require districts to adopt local AI policies this fall. Join district and school leaders for a practitioner-led conversation about rethinking required AI policies to meet your district priorities and community needs. Panelists will explore strategies to design and implement AI guidance that advances teaching and learning goals in your district while meeting state requirements.

AI is already impacting teaching and learning, no matter what policies, or lack of them, are in place. And the technology is rapidly advancing, making it challenging to establish a policy that will make sense in a year, or even six months from now. This session will explore some key indicators for successful learning-first AI guidance: (1) developed in partnership with teachers and students, (2) designed to protect student-teacher relationships, (3) implemented to support not replace cognitive thinking, and (4) mitigating inequity rather than exacerbating it. Get started on creating a lasting framework for AI use that is grounded in your teaching and learning priorities.

This session is for superintendents, academic and curriculum leaders, technology directors, and principals who want to turn a state compliance requirement into AI guidance that aligns to and advances your district's priorities.
